Foundation Scriptures:

And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. 15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. 16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. 17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.  Luke 4:14-19 KJV

And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? 31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. 34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.  Mark 5:25-34 KJV

1. You Have to Receive the Anointing Before You Can Give It.
a. Acts 1:8 KJV – “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
b. The power of Pentecost.
c. The Well - John 4:10-14
d. The River - John 7:37-39
e. Out of your belly will flow rivers of living water.

2. The Transference of the Anointing.
a. Mark 5:25-34
b. One of the greatest passages in the entirety of the Word of God, concerning the transference of the anointing.
c. The woman with the issue of blood came in faith.
d. She said.
e. She touched.
f. She experienced.
g. Virtue – power – dunamis.
h. Dunamis means: force; power; strength; ability; abundance; mighty; mightily; miraculous power; mighty or wonderful work.
i. The same power that healed the woman – we receive when we are baptized in the Holy Ghost.

3. The laying on of hands.
a. When hands are laid on people it is to impart blessing.
b. The anointing is tangible.
c. The anointing is transferred by the laying on of hands.
d.  Acts 8:17 KJV – “Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.”
e. 1 Timothy 4:14 KJV – “Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.”
f. Hebrews 6:2 KJV – “Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.”

4. How Jesus taught me about the transference of the anointing.
a. 1980 – Youth for Christ.
b. Methodist church.
c. I lifted my hand to pray for a young lady on our team before the service.
d. I felt the anointing flow out of my hand and she felt it hit her.
e. The anointing, that touched me in 1979, flowed out of me into my teammates, in the back room, and then into the congregation during the service.

5. It is a flow.
a.
It’s about the river.
b. It’s not pressure or striving.
c.  It’s a flow.
d. It’s about faith.
e. It’s about yielding to Him.
f.  Both the minister of the anointing and the recipient should be yielded to the Lord.
g.  We are the conduit – not the source.
h. The anointing is the presence and the power of the Lord, manifested.
